A New Device to Harness Your Attention

As I mentioned my attention has been a little scattered this past week. I recently read about a device called The Brick that helps you manage your time and attention.

You can decide what apps on your phone you would like to create friction to access. The ones we often turn to when we need a distraction and the same ones that often do absolutely nothing to make us feel better.

It is so easy to use. In less than 5 minutes I could choose which apps I wanted to create friction for and with one tap of the brick to my phone - voila. Now - the only way for me to access those apps was to tap the brick to my phone again. So brick is in my bedroom - under my bed. Yes you read that correctly and I work in my living room.

It makes you notice - it gives your brain time to say "I don't think that is the best use of your time right now." I'm one week in and am a huge fan.

My New Lettuce Obsession

I'm not joking. You know how packaged lettuce tends to go off really fast - well not this baby. I discovered it last week in Whole Foods and it is THE BEST lettuce I have tasted. It stayed crispy fresh for for days. Not one wilted leaf.

My new morning walk is still along the ocean but now I make a right turn and go and check if Whole Foods has it in. So far they have been out of stock 😒 but I spoke to someone today and she said she would put an order in for tomorrow. Please send good lettuce thoughts my way.

A Two Minute Mix

The moment I heard Addison Rae sing Fame is a Gun on the Grammy's last week, I new I had to try and mix it into Glamorous by Fergie and Ludacris.

In the DJ world it is often advised that you do not have two competing vocals happening at the same time, and I knew I needed to keep them both to work. This is called "word play" when you find a lyric from the outgoing song that ties to a lyric on the incoming song.

The Backstory to Taylor Swift's New Video

I am so inspired by Taylor Swift's creativity. Her latest video to Opalite is currently only available on Spotify Premium and Apple Music. It will be available on YouTube this Sunday.

A British Icon is the talk show host Graham Norton, and it was when she was being interviewed last year on the show that the inspiration for her latest video was born. One of the guests casually mentioned he would love to be on a Taylor Swift video and then the rest is herstory.

There is not a decent video to share about this but watch the video on youtube on Sunday and she explains everything.
